Corporate Volunteering

There are two main ways that you can help as a corporate - cooking or donations

Bulk Cooking

We do not have a fleet of chefs - or a flash kitchen to whip up meals for our services fresh on the day. Instead, we rely on bulk cooking sessions to prepare the main hot meal in advance, ready for our volunteers to reheat and serve each Thursday and Saturday.

In a bulk cook session, we make big batches of hearty, freezer-friendly meals - curries, chillis, bolognaise, lasagnas, potato-topped pies, soups and more - anything that reheats beautifully on a stovetop, in the oven, or in a slow cooker.

Sessions can be arranged any day of the week and are held at Cliff Road Hall (unless you happen to have a flash kitchen of your own!). We need between 5 and 15 cooks per session, and we can provide all or some of the ingredients - it is your time and hands we really need.

Smaller organisations are also welcome to register individuals as regular volunteers at our Thursday or Saturday hall services - get in touch below to chat about what works for you.

DOnations

There are a couple of ways your organisation can support Under the Stars with regular donations.

Cash Donations: Regular financial contributions allow us to purchase exactly what we need each week to create healthy, filling meals for our guests. If your organisation would like to set up a regular donation, please complete the form below.

Office Collection Box: We can set up a collection box in your workplace for staff to donate items from our wishlist - we will provide the list so there is no guesswork. We can collect donations from your office or you are welcome to drop them off at any of our services.

Donated items go directly onto our Giveaway Table (held twice a month), where our guests can browse and choose things they need, from food and drinks to toiletries and more. We also use donations to put together care parcels for families in urgent need when those requests come in.

Christmas Collection: Each year we run a larger Christmas collection with an extended wishlist, so that we can offer something a little more special during the holiday season giving our guests the chance to choose meaningful items to take home.
